The objective of this training programme is to define Forgiveness. To summarize the steps in the forgiveness process and to apply what the participant has learned to real-life situations. The focus will also be upon gaining a more grounded understanding of the process of forgiveness and its potential impact upon emotional and relational healing.
We are created by God for love. Loving and being loved are what make life worth living. It gives life purpose and meaning. Many people are hurting, and one of the most powerful choices we can make is to forgive those we perceive to have injured or wronged us in some way. At its essence, forgiveness is a decision to let go of the past. It doesn’t mean we condone what happened. It means we’ve decided to move on from it. Forgiveness is choosing to reclaim your life, so you can live fully and freely in the present moment. Forgiveness is a decision we make because we want to do what’s right before God.
Mathew 6:14-15 says that if we forgive men when they sin against us, our heavenly Father will also forgive us. If we do not forgive me their sins, our heavenly Father will not forgive ours.
